Google March 2019 Algorithm Update

Google rolled out its first official update “The Core Algorithm Update” on 12th March 2019. The core update created ripples in the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) industry as the change affected millions of websites. Causing a major upheaval in the global search results, the core algorithm made changes to the websites from both Your Money or Your Life (YMYL), andExpertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness (E-A-T) landscapes of search results.

Google adjusted the search results with a particular focus on sensitive topics, including the health industry which do provide the valuable information on the YMYL search queries. Some organic search statistics also suggest that Google is rewarding sites that adhere to its Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness (E-A-T) guidelines.

This is the first time in 2019 that Google has officially confirmed the release of an update, following confirmation of the previous Google Core Algorithm Update in 2018. This time around, Google has even suggested a name for the update, albeit not an overly creative one: “March 2019 Core Update”.
